I have decided to offer my Coaching and Training Course on Building the Value of your Business. This course is ideal if you want to make your business more valuable, get your business ready for sale or remove the blockages which are “in your way”. This course will consist of 10 weekly sessions and is for people who have not before taken advantage of my free training and coaching courses. Courses will be presented via a lunchtime webinar so that you can build your business over a sandwich. Conditions for entry into this course are:

  • You must have a good reason for being entitled to free coaching
  • You must agree to attend all sessions

This course will be held over 10 fortnightly sessions. Courses will be presented via a lunchtime webinar so that you can build your business over a sandwich. Conditions for entry into this course are:

Session One - Introduction
  • Introduction to growing a business:
  • What is the purpose of your business?
  • What are your goals?
  • How do buyers see your business?
  • What do buyers want in a business.
  • What are their hot buttons.
  • How can you make your business “hot”

You won’t be able to build a business of value unless you understand how buyers think. You will start to build your business, not from your viewpoint but from that of a buyer.

Session Two - Your Business Plan

Don’t you just hate complex, lengthy business plans! However, you know that you won’t go anywhere without a plan. Our business plan is just a one page document, one you can have by your side all the time you are running your business. There are three questions you need to ask when building a business plan. We will ask those questions in the first five minutes of this session and you are already on your way to building your success blueprint.

Session Three - What is Business Value?

This session will introduce you to Business Valuation principles. You won’t come out of it as a qualified business valuer, but you will better understand the value of your business and how to grow it with this basic education on the principles. What happens if there is no profit. What are the different methods. How do you determine the profit based on current profit and on future profit.

Session Four - Foundations of Business Value

Without certain conditions applying, you won’t have a business to sell at all. In this session we look at your intellectual property, your website and IT assets, your lease, your credit rating and other things that underpin your business. It’s too late to attend to these things a week of two before you go to sell your business. You will start to fill out your “Business Value Fundamentals Checklist”

Session Five - Key Business Value Drivers
Session Six - Become Like a Franchise

The greatest example of building business value in today’s business world is franchising. We look at the key features of franchising, and extract the best to see how you can make your business more like a franchise. This is a favourite exercise in our classes and is fun and interactive. What key ideas of franchising could you get working for you?

Session Seven - New Ideas

Do you have new ideas for your business but don’t know whether they will work or not. Then this session will excite you. You can waste a lot of time and spend a lot of money developing new ideas in your business that will end up being useless.  This module concentrates on design thinking and how to plan for innovation in your business.   You will learn how to research using latest techniques and methods for developing new business. You will also learn how to test your ideas in real market conditions so that you can go to market faster, more safely and with greater returns on your investment.

Session Eight - Form Your Team

You won’t do this alone You will need the backup of a team of professional.You will need:

  • A coach who can keep you on track, tell you things you don’t know and help you build towards your business plan objectives
  • A lawyer who can advise you on the right structure your business and who can continue to advise you for small business matters as you grow your business. Growth involves risk and you need to be protected.
  • A financial advisor (accountant) who can monitor your progress and ensure that you pay the minimum amount of tax. This advisor will also work closely with the following professional:
  • A financial planner who will advise you on the best investment strategy as you start to make more income from your business.
  • A business broker who can keep you informed about the value of your business and who can educate you about how to increase its value. Of course, the business broker is on hand when you finally come to sell your business. If you have worked with at business broker beforehand, the preparation for putting the business on the market it already done. The path to a successful transaction is more certain
Session Nine - Business Growth Through Social Media

These days the choice of tools for building your business is wide and the possibilities available to you are mind-boggling. In this session we look at your social media policy and how it can be improved. Should you have a YouTube channel? How can you improve your LinkedIn profile? How can you use Facebook Live to advantage? How can you be authority on Twitter. How should you be using Google plus?

Session Ten - Make IT your friend.

The world of business has changed so much in the past 15 years Almost every other day there is a new app out which promises to save you time, boost your productivity, increased team communication and automate your workflow. In this session we will look at the very latest in technology, with a focus on what tools you should be thinking about to not only increase productivity and sales but also to boost the value of your business.
